The City of Euless selected HEB ISD's MARC Program as their Volunteer Youth of the Year!

Last year, these students performed volunteer work for Euless' Parks Department. For three weeks, they worked at the greenhouse and the tree farm. They did a variety of tasks, such as raking leaves, cleaning up around the greenhouse, organizing Arbor Daze trees and repotting the trees into bigger containers. In addition, they visited a few parks and planted some trees. This was the first time these students volunteered for the Parks Department and it was a positive experience for everyone.

MARC stands for "Moving into Adult Roles and Communities". The MARC Program is a transition service offered by HEB ISD and is located at the Transition Center Campus. The students are 18 to 21 years old, have special needs and have met their academic requirements to graduate.

Through the MARC program, students learn work skills and the skills necessary for making the transition into adulthood beyond public school. They gain skills for independent living, employability and community participation. By working with local businesses that have an agreement with the district, students also gain vocational experience.
