Each year, all twenty elementary schools and five junior highs hold campus Geography Challenge competitions. The winner from each school takes a test from the National Geographic Society (which determines eligibility for the state geography bee) and participates in the district-wide Geography Challenge. At the 2019 HEB ISD Geography Challenge, 1st place went to Aabhwan Adhikary of West Hurst Elementary and 2nd place to Jonathan Itgen of Bedford Heights Elementary. Third place was a tie between Caleb Chen of Viridian Elementary and Dane Riley of Hurst Junior High. Congratulations to all our impressive students, and thank you to all the campus coordinators and others who made this year's competitions a success!
