The HEB ISD Suzuki Strings program hosted a Winter Workshop in December. The event included masterclasses, Texas-style fiddle classes, and performances for Suzuki students across the district. We were fortunate to have invited guest clinicians from across the nation to teach students about different styles of music making. The workshop culminated with performances by Reading Academy, the Elementary Honors Orchestra, Fine Tuners ensembles, Bass Choir, and fiddle clinicians.

We appreciate the thoughtful instruction students at Reading Academy receive from Mrs. Truex, orchestra director at Central Junior High. We also thank Allison King, orchestra director at L. D. Bell High School, and Mark Chandler, director of Performing and Visual Arts for their continued support of our K through 12 string program, and Mr. McCown for taking beautiful pictures.

Fifty students with string instruments watch instructors.

Parents watch as strings students perform in cafetorium, with 'Central Spartans' on the backstage wall.
