Devin Melancon, a Meadow Creek Elementary 6th grade teacher, was recently named as a Semi-Finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Award. Devin was one of more than 1,400 initial applicants from all over Texas. Of those applicants, 150 teachers were selected as semi-finalists and went on to compete in the regional judging. Devin was recognized with a certificate signed by Charles Butt, Chairmen of the H-E-B stores and a $250 H-E-B gift card as a small token of gratitude for all that she does each and every day to inspire and enlighten young minds.
