Fifth and Sixth grade students at Lakewood Elementary had the opportunity to explore different types of rocks and hear about the facets of geology including weather tracking, fossil finding, oil and gas drilling and "green" resources at an on campus event in March. The Geology Department from UT Arlington brought many tools and instruments for the students to explore. They also had a question and answer session in small groups with the geologists.
