The Bedford Junior High "Bronco Makers" had a blast with some of our district maintenance personnel during our monthly BJH Maker Club meeting. The men took the time to come and show our students how to build an electromagnetic motor out of interesting materials like magnets, a battery, and rods. The students had the chance to learn the method behind why and how the motor works as they tried a range of combinations to make their motor function. They were able to make their motor their own through design and speed and even had the chance to try to power it by lemons instead of their battery. Our maker students had so much fun and are so thankful to George Whitehouse, Gary Barnes, and Tony Shields for spending their time working with and teaching them during club time! HEB ISD truly is BETTER TOGETHER!
