The cowboys and cowgirls from Shady Oaks Elementary's 4th Grade Chaparral Ranch, and their families, were invited to the ranch of the Hurst Public Library for Family Night. We would like to thank everyone who attended this event. All received a warm YIPPI-KI-YAY welcome from the library's wonderful Youth Services librarian, Mrs. Beverly Kirkendall, and all of the other staff members of the library. Mrs. Kirkendall gave a tour of the library and showed how to get a library card. She explained all of the tremendous learning resources available for borrowing, and she demonstrated how to use all of the fantastic online databases using your library card for access. All free - YEE-HAW! Thank you for showing us these terrific learning resources for the whole family, Mrs. Kirkendall! Students in grades 3 through 6 who are reading lots of great books to become Texas Bluebonnet Award Readers this year, remember that the Hurst Public Library has many copies of both present and past nominees to help you attain your goal.
